Blue Tokens at Tesco – some Norton news!

Norton Shedders, it’s time to frequent various local Tesco’s to obtain blue tokens to cast a token in our favour. It is open until 14th January 2024. Keep buying Penny Chews!

 

The Dalesmen Singers Gala Night with Colin Easterby

Malew voice choirs have been a big parts of Big Col’s life, since about 2010 the Dalesmen Singers. Imagine what it is like to suddenly lose that sustaining involvement. The Sheds lost Colin’s participation at the same time too. The Sheds and Dalesmen have tried to support Colin in his isolation in the care home. Colin played his part too by reinventing himself in the community by adopting and adapting to online social media – WhatsApp in particular. 

How fabulous was it to be able to get Colin to the 2023 Gala Night at Danby Methodist Church and afterwards in Danby Village Hall for refreshments.

The Sheds part in this was to receive just over £600 to be used purposefully! We’ve also had a couple of Shed enquiries overnight from men.  One lives in Staithes. Danby Esklets children’s work similarly benefitted.
