Shoulder to Shoulder and the Dragon’s Den

This is the title of the newsletter published by UK Men’s Shed Association. Those with keen eyes will see evidence of our Sheds in it.

There’s mention of this years Festival of Thrift at Kirkleatham. It is illustrated by some photos in which you can see Shedder Roger seated behind the stall and Shedder Graham engaged in pallet breaking with a youngster. It was here that we met Stuart Purdie who helped us make contact with the Staithes Athletic and Social Club which opened the door to premises.

We are at the Festival again this year helping to flag up Sheds as a force for good. We’ll have some things to sell as well as engaging with the visitors. It is on 23rd and 24th September.

Scarborough MATES Shed is likely to be there and the Redcar Shed. Time to catch up.

Then you will see an article on Kate Gordon, the recently appointed Shed Development Manager. She is pictured with a cuppa in front of the Staithes Shed wood store!

Take a look at the September newsletter here.

We are poking our head and maybe more into the Dragons’ Den of the High Sheriff. of our County. Is he on the side of the Dragons or the small band of contesting projects who are all one way or another fighting for community good?

This is hopefully only an illustration and not the real thing. We’d better take our blow torch just in case.
