Shed Contact, Possible Shed To Be & a Garden Party at RHB

We’ve had a greeting from Drouin Men’s Shed in Victoria (AU) having had one of our postcards forwarded to them. They have sent a copy of their newsletter which this month features an account of a get together of the local cluster of Sheds – ready for winter!

Dear Secretary

Please find attached a copy of our newsletter for disbursement to your members.

If any of your members are visiting Australia and are in out vicinity let them know they can drop in for a visit.

PS Graham thinks this was the Shed where the lady minibus driver’s father went near Warrangul. In a recent Aussie blog here.

A visitor staying with one of our Whitby Shedders liked what he heard about WHIMS and decided he would go back to his village in Lincolnshire (~4,000 residents) and try to start a Shed. He knows there is no Shed there and has begun to look (in his mind) for premises.

We’ve offered to help with early advice and to put him in contact with “our” Kate Gordon at UK Men’s Shed Association.

Robin Hood’s Bay Methodist Church is hosting a Charity Garden Party on behalf of Fylingdales Churches Together. There will be stalls there by local charities and we are invited to take one. It is the afternoon of Saturday 1st June (12 – 4pm). If you can help staff and also help us offer children the opportunity to make a log car, we would welcome your help.
