Allo, Allo. The event yesterday at Sleights Village Hall organised by North Yorkshire County Council and Yorkshire First was brilliant, from the perspective of “us” and other volunteer groups represented.
That’s it. According to Roger, Bob, Brian and Graham. They are happy bunnies, just like turkeys anticipating Christmas, to mix some metaphors!
We represented the Sheds, the Scouts and the future plan for children and youth, published on Friday in two articles in the Whitby Gazette (thank you Gazette). The excellent Sleights Scout Hut presentation by Eskmouth Scouts played throughout the event. Brill.

There were some very deep and meaningful conversations (as well as Graham being face-painted).

With Memory Lane lunches, Living Well, Carers Resource (we work with these two organisations already but the people there were new to us), Guides are very interested in joining like the Scouts as supporters of the Youth plans.
We met a representative of Advocacy Alliance (who lives in Sleights), Community Transport and the Company of Archers. These are interested in the Youth ideas and the whole Shed thing.
Excited, you bet. Great potential by working together. Thanks to Karen Atkinson of NYCC for taking the risk!
